Baseball Recap: Troy Takes a Loss

If Troy was feeling good fresh off their 12-2 takedown of Lapwai last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Trojans took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Prairie Pirates on Saturday. The defeat continues a trend for the Trojans in their meetings with the Pirates: they've now lost three in a row.

Troy saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Wade Moser, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base. Moser has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Troy now has a losing record of 2-3-1. As for Prairie, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 10-3.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Pirates beat Troy by a score of 12-4 later that day.
