Soccer Game Preview: Clear Lake vs. Brazoswood

The Clear Lake Falcons will square off against the Brazoswood Buccaneers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Clear Lake fell victim to Clear Falls and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Knights by a score of 1-0. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Falcons came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 60th, while the Knights are ranked 241st).

Meanwhile, Brazoswood put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their undefeated season alive. They never let Clear Brook onto the board and left with a 1-0 win. The Buccaneers' winning goal came courtesy of Brady Faulkner.

Brazoswood pushed their record up to 14-0-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Clear Lake, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1-2 and their overall record down to 11-3-3.
