Paxton is 8-2 against Central since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Bobcats will square off against the Jaguars at 6:00 p.m. Paxton has given up an average of 7.3 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Paxton lost 11-4 to Cottondale on Tuesday.

Emily Ward was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3. Alyssa Falk was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Central came up short against Freeport on Wednesday, falling 19-3. The Jaguars haven't had much luck with the Bulldogs recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Natalie Blair made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. Kylie Goodale also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Paxton's loss dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-9.

Thursday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Paxton hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .321. However, it's not like Central struggles in that department as they've averaged .377. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Paxton came out on top in a nail-biter against Central in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, sneaking past 17-16. Will the Bobcats repeat their success, or do the Jaguars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
