Softball Recap: Bethel Bees vs. Tecumseh Arrows
It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Bethel ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 win over the Tecumseh Arrows. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bees have posted since April 18, 2024.
Chloe Kerns was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over eight innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. Kerns was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season.
Kerns wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Cassie Dobmeyer, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That double marked the first that Dobmeyer has hit this season.
Bethel's win bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Tecumseh, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.
Looking ahead, Bethel will square off against Riverside at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Tecumseh, they will challenge Tri-County North at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Panthers will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Arrows surely won't give up without a fight.
