Basketball Game Preview: Trinity Christian Lions vs. Southwest Christian School Eagles

The Trinity Christian Lions are taking a road trip to face off against the Southwest Christian School Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Trinity Christian saw some tournament action on Friday. They took a 66-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of Roosevelt. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (57), the Lions still had to take the loss.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Lucai Anderson, who went 10 for 23 on his way to 28 points. His evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Jet Naegele was another key player, going 9 for 17 on his way to 20 points and six rebounds.

Meanwhile, Southwest Christian School was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Monday as they fell 68-64 to Prince of Peace. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Saturday (62), Southwest Christian School still had to take the loss.

Southwest Christian School has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.3 points per game. As for Trinity Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-11.

Trinity Christian was able to grind out a solid win over Southwest Christian School in their previous meeting back in January of 2016, winning 77-67. The rematch might be a little tougher for Trinity Christian since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
