Softball Recap: Jackson City Drops Season-High Score on Owsley County

Jackson City made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Owsley County, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Jackson City was the clear victor by a 37-19 margin over Owsley County on Thursday. The Tigers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Abigail Clemons was a standout: she got on base in six of her seven plate appearances with one home run, six runs, and eight RBI. Those six runs gave her a new career-high. Karigan Turner was another key player, scoring six runs and stealing a base while getting on base in six of her seven plate appearances.

Jackson City kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

The victory got Jackson City back to even at 2-2. As for Owsley County, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Jackson City Tigers challenge Morgan County Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Owsley County, they will face off against Jenkins at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
