Avoca Central dropped their record down to 11-7 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Naples Big Green Machines by a score of 3-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Big Green Machines this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-1 on May 8th.

As for Naples, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 15 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.9 runs on average over those games.

For Naples' part, Grady Grove made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Grove has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

In other batting news, Naples let Eric McDonald and Ollie Bruen run wild. McDonald went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one run, while Bruen went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. Those two hits gave McDonald a new career-high. Wilhelm Schmidt was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.
