Huffman had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.8 points) and they went ahead and made it nine on Saturday. They came out on top against the Lausanne Collegiate Lynx by a score of 72-64. Given the Vikings' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked seventh in Alabama, while the Lynx are ranked 126th in Tennessee), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

When it comes to explaining why Lausanne Collegiate lost, don't look at Josh Taylor. Despite the final result, he went 6 of 13 on his way to 19 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Zuri Mcclure, who posted ten points and five rebounds.

Huffman is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.2 points per game. As for Lausanne Collegiate, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-6.

Huffman will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Paul W. Bryant at 7:30 p.m. on January 6, 2025. Lausanne Collegiate and Jefferson City will round out the year against one another at at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
