Softball Recap: Barron Collier Wins Going Away Against Estero

Barron Collier's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 14-5 margin over the Estero Wildcats. The win was some much needed relief for the Cougars as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Leena Forbes spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on ten hits. Those hits were her first of the season.

At the plate, Abigail Rascher was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024. Gracie Mercer also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Barron Collier was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .457. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Barron Collier now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Estero, their record is now 8-6.

Coming up, Barron Collier will host Bonita Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Barron Collier is facing Bonita Springs at the right time seeing as Bonita Springs is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Estero, they will take on Naples at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Naples has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.9 runs per game on average), something Estero will no doubt try to take advantage of.
