Basketball Game Preview: Bardstown Tigers vs. Elizabethtown Panthers

Bardstown is 2-8 against Elizabethtown since February of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Bardstown Tigers take on the Elizabethtown Panthers at 7:30 p.m. Bardstown will be strutting in after a victory while Elizabethtown will be coming in after a loss.

While Bardstown didn't have the best season last year (they finished 12-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They strolled past Bethlehem with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 55-39. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tigers.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 80-40, which was the final score in Elizabethtown's tilt against North Hardin on Thursday. The Panthers have struggled against the Trojans recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Bardstown's win bumped their record up to 10-4. As for Elizabethtown, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-13.

Bardstown might still be hurting after the 87-66 loss they got from Elizabethtown when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Can Bardstown avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
