Baseball Game Preview: Jay Bulldogs vs. Grove Ridgerunners

For the second straight game, Jay will face off against Grove. The Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the Ridgerunners at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Jay is coming into the matchup on a six-game losing streak.

Monday just wasn't the day for Jay's offense. They fell just short of Grove by a score of 1-0 on Monday. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Bulldogs' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Bradee Rutherford spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on one hit and racked up 11 Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

Grove is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.8 runs over those games. As for Jay, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.
