Basketball Recap: Xavier Charles-Jones Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Johnson

The Elite Scholars Academy Royal Knights didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against the Johnson Knights on Tuesday, but they still walked away with a 58-54 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Royal Knights.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Elite Scholars Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Xavier Charles-Jones, who posted 14 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Desmond Rose, who had seven points in addition to eight boards and three steals.

Elite Scholars Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in December of 2024.

Elite Scholars Academy's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Johnson, they are on an 18-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Coming up, Elite Scholars Academy will venture away from home to challenge Lake Oconee Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Johnson will be paying especially close attention to the Royal Knights' contest: after the Royal Knights face off against Northwest Classical Academy, they'll take on Johnson again at 7:30 p.m. on December 2.
