Flag Football Recap: Redlands Terriers vs. Beaumont Cougars

Redlands lost against Beaumont back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Terriers were outmatched by the Cougars and fell 48-6. While losing is never fun, the Terriers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California flag football rankings (they are ranked 426th, while the Cougars are ranked 31st).

Beaumont found their leader in sophomore Tessa Martinez, who threw for 310 yards and six touchdowns while completing 88.5% of her passes, and also rushed for 35 yards. Martinez is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as she's now passed for three or more in each of the last six games she's played. Brianna Hypolite was in the mix as well, providing Beaumont with two TDs.

Redlands now has a losing record of 7-8. As for Beaumont, the victory was the 13th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 17-1.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Redlands will challenge rival JW North at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Beaumont is set to square off against their familiar foe Cajon at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Cougars 6.2, the Cowboys 9.5) so any points scored will be well earned.
