Volleyball Recap: Taylor Wins Going Away Against Colerain

Taylor had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Colerain on Tuesday. The Yellowjackets blew past the Cardinals 3-0. The Yellowjackets have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Cardinals, too.

Taylor not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Colerain between 17 and 19 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-17, 25-19.

Audrey Benkert paced Taylor's offense, picking up 14 kills. Benkert got some help from Kylie Stutzman and her 26 assists. Stutzman was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Taylor now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Colerain, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Taylor will head out to challenge Mariemont at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The match will give the Yellowjackets their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Colerain, they will head out on the road to take on Harrison at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
