Volleyball Recap: East Nicolaus Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

East Nicolaus entered their tilt with Pierce on Saturday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They came out on top against the Bears by a score of 2-0. That's more bragging rights for the Spartans, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Kendall Kocher paced East Nicolaus' offense, picking up nine kills. Kocher got some help from Shelby Scoggins and her 20 assists. Scoggins also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Ashlynn Tagala, racking up two apiece.

When it comes to explaining why Pierce lost, don't look at Magali Jauregui. Despite the final result, she had 13 digs and 11 assists.

East Nicolaus' victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Pierce, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.

East Nicolaus didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Calaveras on the 23rd. As for Pierce, they are headed away from home for the first time to take on River Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
