Volleyball Recap: Badger Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Badger and Madison Memorial squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Badger had to settle for second. They came up short against the Spartans, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Spartans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 two weeks ago.

The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-9, 25-11.

Badger's offense was headlined by Meara Heiselmann and Emilyanne Giese, who picked up five kills apiece. Heiselmann really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with six. Laina Kirsch and Kyla Walser kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.

Madison Memorial can attribute much of their success to Kayla Shelton, who had 13 digs and three assists.

Badger has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 17-19 record this season. As for Madison Memorial, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 23-14.

Badger does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Madison Memorial, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-2 victory against Burlington on the 25th.
