Basketball Recap: Wartburg Central Gets the Win

Wartburg Central fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They came out on top against the Jellico Blue Devils by a score of 57-49 on Friday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 62-51 back in January.

Several Blue Devils players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Savannah Lay, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine boards. Another player making a difference was Macy Mccullah, who posted 12 points and five rebounds.

Wartburg Central's win bumped their record up to 8-15. As for Jellico, their loss was their tenth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-21.

Coming up, Wartburg Central will host Eagleton College & Career Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Wartburg Central is facing Eagleton College & Career Academy at the right time seeing as Eagleton College & Career Academy is stuck on a 14-game losing streak. As for Jellico, they will head out on the road to square off against Sunbright at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
