Baseball Recap: Kermit Triumphs

Kermit won the last time they faced Anthony and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Yellow Jackets narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Wildcats 10-8. That's two games straight that the Yellow Jackets have won by exactly two runs.

Ian Bejarano and Zeke Carrasco made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Bejarano tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off six hits. Meanwhile, Carrasco tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Bejarano also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Kermit is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-13 otherwise. At bat, Bejarano went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Carrasco went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI Carrasco has posted since back in February.

In other batting news, Armando Urias was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one double. Erik Perez was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Kermit has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-13 record this season. As for Anthony, they dropped their record down to 6-16 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Coincidentally, Kermit and Anthony will both be playing Presidio the next time they take the field. The Yellow Jackets will head out to face the Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Wildcats will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
