Basketball Recap: Redan Takes a Loss

Redan was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They fell 37-27 to the South Atlanta Hornets. While the Raiders didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Hornets 12-8 in the first quarter.

Despite the loss, Redan saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Koryonia Magee posted seven points and seven steals. The dominant performance gave Magee a new career-high in steals.

Redan's defeat dropped their record down to 1-14. As for South Atlanta, their win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 4-15.

When Redan and South Atlanta next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Redan will challenge Drew Charter and their three-game winning streak at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Similarly, South Atlanta will try to stop Columbia's four-game winning streak when the meet at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
