Soccer Recap: Morristown-Hamblen East Takes a Loss

Morristown-Hamblen East lost against Sevier County back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Hurricanes came up short against the Smoky Bears, falling 7-2. While losing is never fun, Morristown-Hamblen East can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee soccer rankings (they are ranked 123rd, while Sevier County are ranked 27th).

Morristown-Hamblen East has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season. As for Sevier County, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-2-1 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Morristown-Hamblen East will take on Grainger at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sevier County, they will challenge South-Doyle at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sevier County's defense better be ready for this one: South-Doyle have averaged an impressive 4.6 goals per game this season.
