Soccer Recap: Lawrence Takes a Loss

After flying high against Shawnee Mission North on Tuesday, Lawrence came back down to earth. The Lions fell just short of the Olathe West Owls by a score of 2-1 on Saturday. The matchup was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but Lawrence couldn't quite close it out.

Their goal came courtesy of Ginny Besson, who's now up to three this season.

Lawrence's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-5. As for Olathe West, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lawrence will host Shawnee Mission West on Tuesday. Lawrence are facing Shawnee Mission West at the right time seeing as Shawnee Mission West are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Olathe West, they will be playing at home against Lawrence Free State at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
