Basketball Recap: Leto Falcons vs. Chamberlain Storm
Leto was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 54-25 loss at the hands of the Chamberlain Storm. The Falcons were down 39-18 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
De'Layla Brass and Annabella Hill certainly did their best on Wednesday to avoid the loss. Brass went 5 for 10 en route to 12 points, while Hill earned two points along with seven rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Brass a new career-high in threes (two).
Chamberlain found their leader in sophomore Ellayna Stephens, who posted 22 points in addition to five assists and four steals. Another player making a difference was Alyssa Dejesus, who posted 13 points along with five steals.
Leto's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Chamberlain, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
Leto is headed away from home for the first time to face off against Robinson at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Chamberlain, they will venture away from home to square off against Armwood at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
