Softball Recap: Boaz Beats Oneonta for Their Third Straight Victory

While Boaz's victory against Oneonta wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Pirates narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Redskins 5-3. The victory was familiar territory for the Pirates, who have now won three matches in a row.

Boaz's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Bailey Lusk, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Another was Addison Bowlin, who scored a run and stole a base.

Boaz pushed their record up to 19-7-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.67 runs across that stretch. As for Oneonta, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-15.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Boaz will face off against Fort Payne at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Oneonta, they will venture away from home to face off against Hokes Bluff at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
