Soccer Recap: Antioch Comes Up Short

The matchup between Antioch and Heritage on Tuesday hardly resembled the 1-1 effort from their previous meeting. The Antioch Panthers took a 5-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Heritage Patriots. Aaron Islas probably wasn't too happy after the game: he scored every single goal for the Panthers and still walked away on the losing team.

Antioch's defeat dropped their record down to 4-10-5. As for Heritage, their win bumped their record up to 5-9-4.

Antioch and Heritage could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. Antioch (ranked 865th) will meet Pittsburg (ranked 221st) at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Heritage will square off against Liberty at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday down 513 places (820 vs. 307).
