There's no place like home for Newtown, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 victory over the New Milford Green Wave on Wednesday. The Nighthawks haven't had any issues with the Green Wave recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Newtown now has a winning record of 5-4. As for New Milford, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Newtown will head out to face off against Masuk at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Panthers will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Nighthawks surely won't give up without a fight. As for New Milford, they will head out on the road to square off against New Fairfield at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Green Wave's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rebels have averaged an impressive 8.1 runs per game this season.
