Football Game Preview: Sonoma Valley Dragons vs. Terra Linda Trojans + Official Tickets

Two dominant backs in Cayden Waldrop and Jake Rehfeldt are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Sonoma Valley Dragons will be playing in front of their home fans against the Terra Linda Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Sonoma Valley knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 points or more in their past six contests -- so hopefully Terra Linda likes a good challenge.

Sonoma Valley is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Archie Williams, posting a 57-21 victory. Considering the Dragons have won four games by more than 33 points this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Sonoma Valley had a senior duo take command as Dalan Lopata threw for 256 yards and three touchdowns while completing 84.6% of his passes and Colin Buckley picked up 180 receiving yards and one score. Those 180 receiving yards set a new season-high mark for Buckley.

Sonoma Valley was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 292 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 221 rushing yards in three consecutive matchups.

Sonoma Valley didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Chuy Ordaz and Buckley. Buckley's receiving production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 109 receiving yards. Another thorn in Archie Williams' side was Luis Botello, who picked up a sack, forced one fumble, and made seven total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Meanwhile, while Terra Linda put up some points on Saturday, the same can't be said for Piner. The Trojans walked away with a 12-0 win over the Prospectors. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Trojans.

Sonoma Valley's victory bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Terra Linda, their win bumped their record up to 2-6.

Everything came up roses for Sonoma Valley against Terra Linda in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, as the team secured a 49-7 victory. Will the Dragons repeat their success, or do the Trojans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
