Turlock hasn't had much luck against Enochs recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Bulldogs will venture away from home to challenge the Eagles at 4:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Enochs will be up against a hot Turlock team: the squad just extended their winning streak to four. The Bulldogs were the clear victors by a 13-1 margin over Downey on Thursday.
Turlock let Cadee Campbell and AylA LAcerdA run wild. Campbell went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI, while Lacerda went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases Lacerda has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Rylee Murphy, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Turlock always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .562. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Downey only posted an OBP of .211.
Gregori typically has all the answers at home, but on Thursday Enochs proved too difficult a challenge. They blew past the Jaguars 11-1. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Jaguars: they've now won three in a row.
Kaylee Ruiz tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits.
On the hitting side, Makayla Alailima was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Camila Ramirez Quintana, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, two doubles, and one RBI.
Enochs pushed their record up to 20-4 with the win, which was their ninth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games. As for Turlock, their record is now 12-14.
Tuesday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Turlock hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .362. However, it's not like Enochs struggles in that department as they've averaged .415. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Turlock suffered a grim 14-4 defeat to Enochs when the teams last played back in April. Can the Bulldogs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
