Recap: Lee County Yellow Jackets vs. Richmond Raiders
The Lee County Yellow Jackets suffered their biggest defeat since December 12, 2023 on Tuesday. Their rough 68-44 loss to Richmond might stick with them for a while. Lee County was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-17.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Richmond to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jamyia "Juicy" Lindsey, who dropped a double-double on 35 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Lindsey has scored all season. Jasiah "JoJo" Gilchrist was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with eight steals.
Lee County has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season. As for Richmond, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 12-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lee County will take on Scotland at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Scotland is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last six games. Richmond won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Pine Forest at 6:00 p.m. on January 17th. Pine Forest will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 211th, while Richmond is ranked 46th).
