Basketball Recap: St. Cloud Tech Comes Up Short

St. Cloud Tech lost against Moorhead back in January of 2020, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The St. Cloud Tech Tigers had to suffer through an 85-46 loss at the hands of the Moorhead Spuds. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 296th, while the Spuds are ranked 24th).

St. Cloud Tech has also been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-17 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.6 points over those games. Moorhead's win bumped their record up to 18-8.

Looking ahead, St. Cloud Tech will be playing in front of their home fans against Fergus Falls at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Moorhead, they will face off against Rogers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Moorhead knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 26 games -- so hopefully Rogers likes a good challenge.
