Softball Recap: Mabel-Canton Takes a Loss

Mabel-Canton and Wabasha-Kellogg squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Mabel-Canton had to settle for second. They fell 6-3 to the Falcons. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Ella Halverson was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one triple and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Kailey Ingvalson, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Mabel-Canton's loss dropped their record down to 17-8. As for Wabasha-Kellogg, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season.

Mabel-Canton didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 10-2 defeat against Hayfield on the 22nd. Wabasha-Kellogg does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
