Red Mesa hasn't had much luck against Williams recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Redskins will challenge the Vikings at 12:00 p.m.
The home team had won the previous three meetings between Red Mesa and Pinon, and Pinon kept the tradition alive. The Redskins came up short against the Eagles on Wednesday, falling 10-0. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Redskins' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
Meanwhile, Williams made easy work of Northland Prep Academy on Friday and carried off a 12-2 victory. The Vikings haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.
Jack Dent was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Those stolen bases were his first of the season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jace Maebe, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs he has posted since March 5th. Anthony Soto was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Williams always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Northland Prep Academy only posted an OBP of .318.
Red Mesa's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Williams, their record is now 9-6-1.
Red Mesa suffered a grim 21-0 defeat to Williams when the teams last played back in March of 2025. Can the Redskins avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
