Basketball Recap: Paxton-Buckley-Loda Falls Short of Oakwood in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Paxton-Buckley-Loda can now relate to. They received a blow on Saturday as they fell 55-38 to the Oakwood Comets. The Panthers just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Oakwood can attribute much of their success to Madalynne Nicoson, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 11 rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Nicoson a new career-high in assists (five). Another player making a difference was Caydence Vermillion, who went 5-for-11 to rack up 14 points and eight boards.

Paxton-Buckley-Loda's defeat dropped their record down to 4-27. As for Oakwood, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-21.

Paxton-Buckley-Loda does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Oakwood, they will square off against Bishop McNamara at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Bishop McNamara will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Oakwood surely won't give up without a fight.
