Lake Central is 9-1 against Crown Point since April of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Indians will challenge the Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Lake Central comes in on eight and Crown Point on six.

Maddie Such spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on five hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Tegan Tripp was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April. Kate Renschen was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Lake Central kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in five consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Crown Point put their dominant pitcher on display in the team's third consecutive shutout on Thursday. They didn't even let Hammond Central on the board, marking the Bulldogs' second-straight 15-0 shutout. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 20 games by seven runs or more this season.
Lexi Smith made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 14 over five innings pitched. Smith was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
In other batting news, Crown Point let Samantha Dunlap and Hayden Brock run wild. Dunlap went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI, while Brock went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That triple was Dunlap's first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Eva Govert, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and one RBI.
Crown Point's victory bumped their record up to 26-4. As for Lake Central, their win bumped their record up to 27-3.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. Lake Central hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.9 home runs per game. However, it's not like Crown Point struggles in that department as they've been averaging 1 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
