Softball Game Preview: Waterloo Pirates vs. Palmyra-Eagle Panthers

Waterloo has gone a perfect 3-0 against Palmyra-Eagle recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Pirates will take on the Panthers at 5:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Waterloo easily dispatched Belleville on Thursday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Pirates fell just short of Cambria-Friesland by a score of 6-4 on Monday. The Pirates' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Palmyra-Eagle came up short against Greenfield on Monday, falling 14-8.

Palmyra-Eagle's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Waterloo, their loss dropped their record down to 6-8.

Waterloo came out on top in a nail-biter against Palmyra-Eagle in their previous matchup back in May of 2025, sneaking past 4-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pirates since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
