Fort Payne had won nine straight at home dating back to last season, but on Friday they bumped up to 5-1 to make it ten. They blew past the Buckhorn Bucks 45-22. That looming 45-22 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Wildcats yet this season.

Fort Payne's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Blake Griggs, who threw for 124 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only ten passes, and also punched in one TD on the ground. Eli Goggans was in the mix as well, providing the Wildcats with two scores.

Fort Payne was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 301 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Fort Payne didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Goggans and Noah McKeehan. McKeehan is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least nine every time he's taken the field this season. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

As for Buckhorn, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. They have struggled against Fort Payne recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

When it comes to explaining why Buckhorn lost, don't look at Israel Cooper. Despite the final result, he picked up 141 receiving yards and one TD, and also rushed for 92 yards and one touchdown.
