Basketball Recap: Greece Olympia Comes Up Short

Greece Olympia lost against Greece Athena back in January of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Greece Olympia Spartans took a 70-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Greece Athena Trojans. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 505th, while the Trojans are ranked 40th).

Greece Olympia's defeat dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Greece Athena, they pushed their record up to 17-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Greece Olympia will challenge Brighton at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Greece Olympia knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Brighton likes a good challenge. As for Greece Athena, they are taking a road trip to take on Canandaigua Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Canandaigua Academy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six games.
