Baseball Recap: Make It Two in a Row for Grace Christian

Grace Christian won against Zephyrhills Christian Academy last Tuesday with 15 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. The Grace Christian Patriots never let the Hernando Christian Academy Lions get on the board and left with a 15-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Patriots.

Braden Johns made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in March of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Grace Christian let Benjamin Fanelli and Kyler Rickenbach run wild. Fanelli scored two runs and stole two bases, while Rickenbach scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. Fanelli is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now stolen at least one in each of the last three games he's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Cash Newton, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in both of his plate appearances.

Grace Christian's record is now 2-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Grace Christian will welcome Keswick Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keswick Christian's pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so Grace Christian's hitters will have their work cut out for them. Hernando Christian Academy will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Real Life Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on March 4th.
