Volleyball Recap: Hamilton Southeastern Wins Going Away Against Avon

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Cathedral, Hamilton Southeastern was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Avon Orioles. The win continues a trend for the Royals in their matchups with the Orioles: they've now won six in a row.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Hamilton Southeastern took every set by at least 14 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-10, 25-10.

Hamilton Southeastern can attribute much of their success to Sean Carmona, who had 15 assists and three digs. Carmona has been hot for a while, having posted 15 or more assists the last nine times he's played. Vini Knihs also deserves some recognition as he served his first aces of the season.

Hamilton Southeastern was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 14 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Hamilton Southeastern's record now sits at 10-7. As for Avon, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-11.
