Softball Recap: Tohopekaliga Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

Tohopekaliga's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Bishop Moore Hornets as they made off with a 17-6 win. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matches by six runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Anaya Josue, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 5-for-5. Those five hits gave her a new career-high. Jaslyn Rodriguez also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Josue wasn't the only one making solid contact: Tohopekaliga kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Tohopekaliga's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-6. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.2 runs over those games. As for Bishop Moore, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-14.

Tohopekaliga and Bishop Moore could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. The Tigers will challenge St. Cloud at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank disadvantage (327 vs. 97). Meanwhile, Bishop Moore (ranked 333rd) will meet Apopka (ranked 80th) at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
