Softball Recap: Hanford West Extends Winning Streak to Four

Hanford West extended their winning streak to four on Friday, bumping their season record up to 17-6 in the process. They came out on top against the Kerman Lions by a score of 7-2. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 9-6 back in April.

Karmen Vazquez was incredible, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run and two RBI. Janelle Ramirez was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Hanford West lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in April.

As for Kerman, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-7. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.

On Kerman's side, they saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sydney Yep, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hanford West will welcome Kingsburg at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (the Huskies have won seven straight at home, while the Vikings won four straight on the road), something that'll have to change. As for Kerman, they will host Selma at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lions' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bears have averaged an impressive 6.3 runs per game this season.
