Volleyball Game Preview: Hesperia Scorpions vs. Oak Hills Bulldogs

The Hesperia Scorpions are taking a road trip to take on the Oak Hills Bulldogs at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Hesperia has eight straight victories, Oak Hills has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

If Apple Valley wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Hesperia, they should've done a better job of containing Dylanna Akwaboah. The Scorpions put the hurt on the Sun Devils with a sharp 3-0 win on Monday for which the team can thank Akwaboah, who had 29 assists and seven digs. She is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 29 or more in each of the last eight games she's played.

Hesperia was especially dominant in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-14, 25-18.

Meanwhile, Oak Hills came up short against Serrano on Wednesday and fell 3-1.

The final score came out to 25-22, 21-25, 25-17, 25-13.

Oak Hills' defeat dropped their record down to 8-19. As for Hesperia, their victory bumped their record up to 24-1.

Hesperia beat Oak Hills 3-1 in their previous matchup back in September. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Scorpions since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
