Basketball Recap: Lincoln Falls Short of Mt. Zion in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Lincoln can now relate to. They fell just short of the Mt. Zion Braves by a score of 32-30 on Wednesday. The loss continues a trend for the Railsplitters in their meetings with the Braves: they've now lost four in a row.

Lincoln lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Frank Sanders, who posted six points and eight boards. He has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Karson Komnick, who shot 46% from the field to rack up 16 points.

Lincoln's defeat dropped their record down to 23-11. As for Mt. Zion, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 25-9.

Lincoln does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mt. Zion, they will take on Glenwood at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Glenwood will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Mt. Zion surely won't give up without a fight.
