New Kent has gone 8-2 against Warhill recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Trojans will venture away from home to face off against the Lions at 4:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (New Kent has three straight wins, Warhill has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
New Kent's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over Smithfield. Considering the Trojans have won six games by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Lane Boyette made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over five innings pitched. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, New Kent got a big performance out of Michael Hetzel, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That triple was Hetzel's first of the season. Bryce Hochman was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double.
New Kent was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .440. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .321 or higher in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Warhill came up short against Grafton on Wednesday, falling 12-6.
Warhill saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Evan Harney, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4.
New Kent's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Warhill, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.
Warhill's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: New Kent hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .409. It's a different story for Warhill, though, as they've only averaged .253. Will they be able to contain New Kent's hitters?
Everything went New Kent's way against Warhill in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as New Kent made off with a 13-0 victory. Will the Trojans repeat their success, or do the Lions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
