Basketball Game Preview: Orleans Bulldogs vs. Borden Braves

Orleans is on a six-game streak of home wins, while Borden is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Orleans Bulldogs will welcome the Borden Braves at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Orleans is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.4 points per game this season.

Orleans is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Salem: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Orleans blew Salem out of the water with a 67-27 final score. With the Bulldogs ahead 38-16 at the half, the match was all but over already.

Orleans had a senior duo take command as Rylan Crocker went 8 for 12 on his way to 24 points and Bryce Jones went 5 of 7 en route to 13 points in addition to five assists and three steals. The game was Crocker's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Nate Brown, who posted seven points.

Meanwhile, Borden hadn't done well against Henryville recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Borden strolled past Henryville with points to spare, taking the game 50-34.

Borden has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.7 points per game. As for Orleans, their win bumped their record up to 10-2.

Orleans strolled past Borden in their previous meeting back in January of 2024 by a score of 51-32. Will Orleans repeat their success, or does Borden have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
