Recap: Union Parish Farmers vs. Bogalusa Lumberjacks
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Union Parish Farmers walked away with it. They secured a 28-22 W over the Lumberjacks on Friday. The win was nothing new for Union Parish as they're now sitting on three straight.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Union Parish to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jordan Hill , who rushed for 108 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries. Hill was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 50 yards. Jy?marion Island also helped out as he racked up 144 rushing yards.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Union Parish's defense and their six sacks. Leading the way was Charles Kendricks and his two sacks.
When it comes to explaining why Bogalusa lost, one person who can't be blamed is Ashton Levi. Despite the final result, he threw for 405 yards and three touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes. Lance Jackson jr. was another key contributor, picking up 95 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Union Parish has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. As for Bogalusa, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-5.
Union Parish is on the road again on Friday and play against Jena. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Louisiana (Jena is ranked 39th, while Union Parish is ranked 57th). Bogalusa does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
