Baseball Recap: Pocahontas County Takes a Loss

Pocahontas County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 14-10 to the Highland Rams. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rams this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 17-4 last Thursday.

RT Hill stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. Devon Burgess was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.

Pocahontas County's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Highland, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pocahontas County will host Bath County at 4:30 p.m. on April 4. As for Highland, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Narrows at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup will give Highland their first taste of in-conference action this season.
