Softball Recap: Cary Imps vs. Athens Drive Jaguars
Cary had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell just short of the Athens Drive Jaguars by a score of 12-11 on Tuesday. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it 20 in a row.

Catherine Baker made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored four runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in runs. Ava Spey was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
Baker wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Cary kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Athens Drive only managed eight hits.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cary will head out to square off against Riverside-Durham at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Athens Drive, they will face off against Green Level at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Athens Drive has given up an average of 13.4 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
