Washington Township has gone a perfect 10-0 against Westville recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Senators will host the Blackhawks at 4:30 p.m. Westville took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Washington Township, who comes in off a win.
On Monday, Washington Township earned a 5-2 win over Merrillville. The Senators haven't had any issues with the Pirates recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Destin Billings and Drew Horvath made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Billings struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. Meanwhile, Horvath pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Washington Township is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-4-1 otherwise. At the plate, Billings got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two RBI and one double, while Horvath got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. That's the most RBI Billings has posted since back in May of 2024.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Gavin Kukler, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Gilbert, who earned one run and two stolen bases.
Meanwhile, after soaring to ten runs the game before, Westville was a bit more limited in their game on Tuesday. They came up short against Glenn, falling 11-1. The defeat continues a trend for the Blackhawks in their meetings with the Falcons: they've now lost seven in a row.
Westville saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Seth Stachniack, who went 1-for-2 with one run.
Washington Township's win bumped their record up to 6-4-1. As for Westville, their loss dropped their record down to 5-10.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Washington Township has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.5 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Westville struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.3 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Washington Township took their victory against Westville in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 12-1 score. Will the Senators repeat their success, or do the Blackhawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
