Middlesboro's rock-solid defense showed up for the team's third consecutive shutout on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Pineville Mountain Lions 50-0. The result was nothing new for the Yellowjackets, who have now won five games by 32 points or more so far this season.

Middlesboro's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-0. Those road victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 0.0 points on average over those games. As for Pineville, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 3-5.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Middlesboro is set to take on their familiar foe Williamsburg at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Pineville will challenge rival Lynn Camp at 7:30 p.m. on the 24th.
