Basketball Game Preview: Waxahachie Indians vs. Rockwall Yellowjackets

The Waxahachie Indians will head out on the road to challenge the Rockwall Yellowjackets at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Waxahachie is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.

Waxahachie is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They strolled past Copperas Cove with points to spare, taking the game 64-49. Given the Indians' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 70th, while the Bulldawgs are ranked 384th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Waxahachie to victory, but perhaps none more so than Christian Brown, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and ten boards. What's more, Brown also posted a 71% field goal percentage, which is the highest he's achieved since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Eddie Williams, who went 5-for-8 to rack up 10 points and seven rebounds.

Meanwhile, Rockwall was able to grind out a solid victory over Sachse on Monday, taking the game 55-42. The Yellowjackets haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Rockwall's victory bumped their record up to 23-9. As for Waxahachie, their win bumped their record up to 19-14.

Waxahachie beat Rockwall 74-62 in their previous meeting back in February of 2021. Will Waxahachie repeat their success, or does Rockwall have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
